Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled Java and C++ developer to join our expanding team in Santiago de Compostela. This role involves contributing to the development of mass spectrometry instrument control software. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in Java-based client application development and in C++ software development for instrument control and signal processing.

• Design, develop, and maintain applications using Java, C++ and related technologies
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve complex problems
• Share your knowledge and expertise with others, including presenting your work to the team and explaining technical concepts in a clear and concise manner
• Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies
  
  

Qualifications

• You hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• You have experience developing Java-based client applications
• You have a solid understanding of UI design principles
• You have experience developing software that interfaces with hardware, laboratory instruments, industrial devices, or other physical systems
• You demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and communicate effectively in a team environment
• You are experienced with modern development tools such as Git and Maven
• You are able to understand, maintain, and extend existing source code
• You are interested in hardware-related work, including testing your software on real mass spectrometry systems
• You are fluent in English, both written and spoken

• Experience with C++ development
• Experience with Eclipse RCP and Eclipse-based applications
