Tax Trainee

Location: Ebury Spain - Málaga office - 4 days a week office based, 1 day from home office

The Finance team is a strong and growing part of the business. We’re looking for an individual who can support and challenge us in our journey to take our tax controls to the next level.

The Finance and Tax team is responsible for maintaining proper accounting records both locally and at a Group level, including financial and management reporting and regulatory reporting for tax purposes. The role will incorporate establishing and enhancing control measures and identifying opportunities for Ebury to be more efficient and effective.

The Tax Trainee will focus on building a strong relationship between the Accounts Payable Team and other areas of the Ebury business, ensuring all internal reporting requirements are fulfilled, coordination of the preparation and submission of VAT, and other various statutory and regulatory reporting requirements across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.


Responsibilities:

  • Providing support in the preparation of corporation tax reconciliations and filings
    across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Assistance in the preparation of entity and branch workbooks in the completion of
    local and statutory accounts, which includes posting journal entries to Netsuite.
  • Preparing analyses of accounts and producing monthly reports
  • Collaborate in the audit process

Requirements:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics or similar.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Excel and ERP (NetSuite/Oracle, SAP and NAV).
  • English (C1), Spanish (C1), and other languages are a plus.
  • Eligibility to work 40 hours per week


Desired skills:

  • Exposure to corporation tax.
  • Detail-oriented, professional attitude and highly reliable.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, basic accounting principles, teamwork, documentation, data analysis and multi-tasking.
  • Experience working with Netsuite (ERP), and Invoicing systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
